THE LILAS - OUT OF THE SKY, INTO THE SEA EP

THE LUCKNOW DEMOS

CHOREOGRAPHY

FUN FACTS ARE FUN!

Lauren co-produced Choreography with “Megiddo” engineer John Morand at Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, VA

A sleeper hit, “Broken” rose to popularity in 2012 and has helped Lauren’s music reach over 50 Million streams on Pandora radio

Many songs from Choreography were featured in seasons 1 and 2 of the queer teen drama “South Of Nowhere”

Choreography was released in Europe by Fargo Records (France), where Lauren again toured and performed live on TV and radio

Lauren teamed up with multi-media artist, dancer and choreographer Jason Akira Somma to produce several contemporary-dance-based music videos for the songs “Broken”, “Solipsist”, “Another Song About The Darkness”, “Out Of the Sky, Into The Sea”, and “Joshua”

In 2003, The Lucknow Demos were recorded in India with Sheer Om, who also played accordion and keyboards, and featured early acoustic versions of songs that would later appear on Choreography

The acoustic version of “Another Song About The Darkness” from The Lucknow Demos was featured in the Kill Rock Stars compilation The Sound The Hare Heard

In 2004, Lauren briefly formed a band in Charlottesville VA, The Lilas, who toured on the east coast and released an EP, Out Of The Sky Into The Sea, also featuring early versions of the title song and “Solipsist”, both later re-recorded for Choreography

“gorgeous”

Returning to the dark, swirling atmospherics of her debut, the moody and gorgeous Choreography ups the ante with layers of textured production, sampling a potpourri of styles and handling them all with equal aplomb.

John Schacht - Allmusic

Always so endearing, the music of Lauren Hoffman is adorned with a matter at once dense and airy, sincere and murmuring. In a lascivious and languorous pose, as on the cover of Choreography , the young woman can (re) think of the future that sing. The merit of this new opus is to exist fully and to be in harmony with its author, wise and reserved.
