athens trip

listening to the new cd by robert jospe (a local jazz musician) on a beautiful spring morning, and still in my pjs, i feel miles from anywhere… and i am, i guess.
the dull roar of new york having been replaced by the hum of insects, i know i am at home… after a week spent wandering about that big city, i came home with a fever; sick from sensory overload.  but i managed to pick my sorry ass up and get in the car again, this time heading south…

kathy and i just got back from our little road trip to athens, georgia, where we played at the 40 watt club and hung out with some very cool people--like kitty snyder, a local singer/songwriter with a voice that god might have if god were a young woman who smoked cigarettes…
it was a lot of fun, and i'm a little bummed to be home, and alone, now… it felt so good to be out there on the road, with just a bag and an acoustic guitar.
